The specialty of Ken Rubin’s Macintosh is in coming to your home or office and making sure your computer system and related toys work as they should. Macintosh support covers a lot of territory and often crosses over into troubleshooting and other services. Essentially help is at the core of what I do. Support from Ken Rubin’s Macintosh includes free follow-up phone and email support for those issues covered in the visit. Even questions unrelated to the visit are welcome.

Not all support comes in the form of an on-site visit. Using Internet technology called remote access, I can work with you while at my office helping you just as if I were there next to you. And the price is much less than an on-site visit.

The setup of a Mac or an iPad is one of the most popular requests for support. This can include pre-purchase advice as well as assistance in pickup and delivery of the product from The Apple Store. The setup itself can include not just the computer, but a wireless printer & network, and transferring files from an older Mac or a PC. I can even get your iPad and iPhone connected. A little bit of training is also known to take place after everything is setup.

For the owner of a working Mac system, support can take the shape of maintenance, tune-up and updates. This bring everything up-to-date, including such 3rd party software as Adobe Reader and Flash. This is a nice thing to do for your Mac maybe once or twice each year. And speaking of time, Mac’s backup software Time Machine, or something similar, should be part of every Mac system. A backup “system” requires an external hard drive, which I can bring with me.

As for those not familiar with Ken Rubin’s Macintosh but need a quick answer, it is best to email me via the Contact page. There you will see what is free and what might carry a small fee.

The nice thing about having a computer support specialist, whether it is Ken Rubin’s Macintosh or another company, is that you never feel alone. You know that someone who knows your name will be answering the phone willing to help. Or at least will pick up your voice mail message and return the call.

Free or typically $25-$50.
